STAY POSITIVE, TEST NEGATIVE

An important message from the US Hispanic Contractors Association:

As essential workers, there are essential precautions to take. It is a privilege to be able to remain working; let's do our part to keep our community safe.

Please remember to wash your hands often, maintain a 6ft distance from others, wear a fabric face covering, do not come to work if you are sick or have had contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, no hand shaking, do not share tools, limit carpooling, and do not share community water coolers.

Together we can stop the spread and stay safe and healthy.

The importance of getting tested

The importance of testing goes beyond medical advances, it becomes much more personal for each of us when it means protecting the lives of those we love most. Getting tested means you can know whether it is safe to cuddle your young children, hug and share meals with your family, and ultimately care for those closest to you. What happens to you, affects your family. Movimiento es vivir, movement is life; getting tested can fuel this momentum with confidence in knowing you can return to work or your family safely. It is important to remember that being tested today is not equivalent to receiving a vaccine or immunity, and one should still move forward with the necessary preventive measures. Everything we know about the virus currently is a result of testing for it, and we need more testing to find out how we can stay healthy, stay positive, and test negative.

The USHCA, along with our partners the Austin Latino Coalition, Univision 62, and the Latino Health Care Forum, had another successful testing event July 18, 2020 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The event provided much needed, barrier free COVID-19 testing and FREE PPE supplies for our Latino construction industry frontline workers.

If you need to get tested, please join us at our next free COVID testing event. Visit out COVID-19 Testing page for more updates on testing and event information.
